With over five decades of experience spanning academia, research, and industry consultancy, Dr. Pratima Rani Bose brings exceptional depth in Structural Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, and Disaster Management to her role as Principal Domain Expert – Structural Design at Vavetek AI.
In this role, Dr. Bose works closely with product and engineering teams to translate complex structural principles into software requirements, validates engineering logic, ensures alignment with design codes, thus helping deliver outcomes that are engineering correct.
As Associate Director and in charge of Engineering and Disaster Management division of DDF Consultants Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, she provided advisory and leadership for over 15 years. She was instrumental in integrating structural safety and disaster management in planning and designing infrastructure and building projects.
Prior to this, she served as Professor for 16 years at Delhi Technological University (Formerly Delhi College of Engineering) and performed assigned duties of Head of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and various Deanships. She also served as Principal of CBP Government Engineering. College, Delhi. She led research and consultancy in structural and earthquake engineering while shaping academics and administration.
Earlier in her career, she spent 20 years at the Department of Earthquake Engineering at IIT Roorkee as a faculty and contributed to academia and research and was involved in number of consultancy projects of earthquake resistant analysis and design of buildings, bridges and other critical national level structures.
Dr. Bose holds a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi on Dynamic Behavior of buildings under wind loads, along with B.E. (Civil Engineering) and M.E. (Structures) from IIT Roorkee.
